A visit to Glendalough

Hi everybody!

Today we have gone to Glendalough. Glendalough is home to one of the most important monastic sites in Ireland. This early Christian monastic settlement was founded by St.Kevin in the 6th century and from this developed the "Monastic City".

Glendalough is irish, and it means "The Valley of the two lakes". There is the lower lake and the upper lake, and between them there is a very huge range of greens.

First of all we have visited the remains of the Monastic City explaining to them the history of St.Kevin and his settlement there. After this we have walked around the lower lake towards the upper lake. When we have arrived to the upper lake, we had lunch and we have played football and "pichi" in the greens. To finish, we have bought an ice cream before leaving this incredible place.

We enjoyed the day and the beautiful landscape of the lakes. Cheers!
